I'm Trying 03:24
I’m Trying Made up my mine, no turning back Shrug off those jokes, take some flak Go the distance whatever that means Get you back inside my dreams I’m trying that’s a fact I’m trying to win you back Put on a tie play the fool Do all those thing I know aren’t cool I’m just a man so don’t expect too much but I’ve got a major lovin’ crush I’m not superstitious guy But everybody knows bad luck comes in 3s They took back the truck, the dog ran away Then there’s that thing between you and me Dance in a circle of flaming rocks Put on 2 of the same damn sox I’ve messed up before, now I’m coming clean Show you that I really mean, I’m trying

Top of My Cycle Don’t mess with me, I’m feeling too good Not out of it like you might have heard It’s not that I’m antisocial at all Hiding under my bed when you called But I’m not ready to admit defeat throw in the towel and hit the streets May only be the pull of the moon that got me out of my damn room Not from a bottle, pill, or drug Could be a blind stroke of luck I hope it never stops I’m at the … top of my cycle, top of my cycle top of my cycle, top of my cycle Spinning thoughts loose in my head A well-turned phrase that someone said It wrestles with me it won’t stop But this time I may come out on top I’ve been known to rush into a fight But not today not on your life My courage’s up, defenses down I don’t care if I end up on the ground That sums it this story’s end Join me up here all my friends Sounds cliche but hell that’s fine You didn’t have to call saved you the time Close my eyes worse for wear Go for broke cause I don’t care count to ten and yelling loud Because I’m just not scared right now

What the Animal Looks Like Strange little form out of the corner of my eye no destination runs with all his might tiny little head, barely walks upright Take a good look, this is what the animal looks like He roams this small planet barely has a thought Can hardly remember any thing that he was taught but he can do some damage, and I just might Take a good look this is what the animal looks like So bright the sun looks dim Stars fade out next to him For all he knows he’s doing his part So damn bright but not too smart Hold a conversation the cracks they start to show Can’t speak out loud, with everything that he should know Turn over a rock, he wiggles out of sight Take a good look, this is what the animal looks like What is the answer, we may never know What holds the key to all this to and fro I can never tell how I make it through the night just take a good look, we are what the animal looks like

Voodoo 03:49
Voodoo I was out late last night. sun’s long gone, moon is high Street light bouncing off the trees Drop to the ground I’m on both my knees Yelling loud sounds in my ears, got a hold of my thoughts and fears See myself on the ground Someone in the shadows laughs without a sound Keep the secret me and you Don’t pretend we’ve got a clue Spin around I almost see Strange forces nothing’s guaranteed Voodoo, don’t ask why More than meets the eye So now I understand why nothing ever goes as its planned, Voodoo Speak in tongs from another land, then a shadow grabs my hand In the air I try to think I’m like a kite lost without a string Holding me down below all the people see a town so rich in mystery Not a care but the locals know What is real and what really runs the show Go ahead, ask a question just don’t expect to get an answer There’s more out there than we know So don’t wait roll the dice and take your chances and what will be will be, lets just see
5.
Brand New Product Starting day dreams is our right Stand beside me through the fight, tonight I don’t deny that it’s not gone It might not right all that is wrong Now that we’ve got everything we want What are we going to do with it we need a dark place we can haunt And show off our brand new product Two steps back and one step out Overextended full of doubt, no doubt Sordid mixture all our own Only truth we’ve ever known Burning coals a barefoot run That might be the only point to the fun Let’s make this one big mistake show our hand and twist our fate
6.
Laugh out Loud Can’t help it, when I watch the news I know it ’s not funny but all I can do Look at all the big problems that we’ve got I laugh at the most inappropriate things When the movie is sad or when I hear the phone ring It’s a short circuit the doctor said I should cry but I laugh instead I just laugh out loud People give me the strangest looks when I hear the politicians, liars and crooks A medical condition in my head I’m doubled over till my face is red I’m at the circus surrounded by clowns I really hope that it’s not as bad as it sounds Maybe I fiddle while Rome burns I try my best to live and learn and Laugh out loud We cause our own problems that’s a fact Just say something stupid that you can’t take back A permanent record when you speak out loud But you got to protect yourself somehow
7.
Lightning 04:49
Lightning Burning thoughts I’ve tried but I can’t tame The sun is out but I feel approaching rain As long as I remember it won’t let me be stick around too long you’re going to see Don’t stand next to me ‘cause Lightning won’t let me be Keep away that’s all you can do And don’t let me stand next to you When you see me smile don’t dare hold your ground When the darkness comes it’l bring us both way down Don’t look me in the eyes you’ll see my tears With the flame deep inside it knows my fears Try to hide I know its starting to show There’s something about me you just gotta know Maybe it’s my attitude I was born this way If I were you I’d turn and walk away Somethings just not right Dogs me all my life That feeling I get you can’t talk me down Just a matter of time you don’t want me around
8.
Victim of Poor Choices There was a time when I knew wrong from right I should have run but I stayed despite Backed against a wall, every day’s a fight Victim of poor choices that hound me tonight Tried to sell my soul but could find no one to buy Line up in a row long face to identify Try to hide my eyes, darkest blinding light Victim of poor choices that hound me tonight Look over my shoulder I just want to be free I feel the ghosts of my past chasing me If you play the game it’s high time you come clean Don’t know where you are nightmare or a dream Don’t know where to turn, a shadow in moonlight Victim of poor choices that hounds me tonight
9.
My own Murder There’s a secret I wish I knew, riddle waiting for a clue About one untimely end, by a lover or a friend Shot rang out deep in the night, blinding flash burning light Then I fell to the ground, deafening thud without a sound Tragic news today, the mystery won’t go away I just sit here and wonder, ‘bout how to solve my own murder Every night and every day, wait and see what may lay All the courage I could spare, sweat and toil doesn’t compare Miss my wife, friends and dog, it seems I’m in a distant fog Loved my life while it was here, what’s left can’t conjure a tear Maybe I planned it all along, my demise just for this song Rack my brain try to think, or just have another drink This nagging question fills my mind, did I plan my own demise But the wheel goes round and round, even when you’re under ground

about

The world’s getting smaller. Our instant access to digital media, the Internet, social networks, and cell phones makes the future look wide open, as though there’s nothing we can’t do.
But every positive has an equal negative. The poor are often left behind without access to the skills and support they need to move ahead. Animals are being crowded out of existence, forests are getting leveled, and as we boldly move forward, we’re destroying the very neighborhoods that we call home.
It’s not too late. Let’s take a step back and rethink our priorities. After all, we all live in SLIVER PARK.
